Blessed Be Your Name

I love this song. I loved it during the summer of 2006, when the sun was shining down on me, and the world was all as it should be - and I sang it through tears after Katie's diagnosis. It is a prayer that I still love to sing and pray.

Blessed Be Your Name by Tree63

Blessed be your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where the streams of abundance flow
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

Blessed be your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name

Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name

Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, Blessed be your name

It is grace, indeed, to be able to say "Blessed be the Name of the Lord" in dark times. I'm so glad that you still sing and pray this beautiful song.

I love this song too. We sang it at Joey's memorial service, 4 years ago, and often at church even now. It is the song of the heart of a bereaved mother who trusts in God no matter what. Learning to do that with each passing day.
