Spring Break

Happy Spring Break, everyone!
I spent part of Spring Break in California with my family.
I'm looking forward to catching up with all of my blogger-peeps, and hope you had a great week, too.
Going to Palm Desert to visit my parents means golf and tennis
pool time,
driving fun cars
eating WAY too much
(the world's greatest Greek Salad at Chef George's),
a spa day, with the resulting improved feet & toes

(hey, I never said my feet were beautiful!
I said improved)
celebrating my dad's birthday,
browsing in shops, drinking fun beverages;
sunshine and flowers
(when it's rainy at home).
It also means talking, laughing,
morning walks,
card games,
wine and appetizers before dinner, serious discussions, jokes and banter.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation, Mom & Dad!
We love you!

This visit looks like it was glorious!!!

In response to your question, the humidity hasn't hit yet, but yes, that IS part of why I hate summer here. It's really unbearable.

I had told Smileygirl once what I thought the issue really was. I was doing some self-analysis once, right around the time she was REALLY struggling with the move to Seattle and was suffering BIG TIME with SAD. It occurred to me that perhaps I have the exact opposite of SAD. It's the sunshine that makes me crazy. (I suppose it could still be called "SAD" since it's still a seasonal affective disorder) After thinking about it for a while, it suddenly occurred to me that perhaps this had something to do with the fact that bright sunlight triggers my migraines. It was really a 'lightbulb moment' for me. I much prefer to be sitting somewhere shady and cool. Truthfully, I like being outside when it's sunny, but ONLY if I'm somehow shaded (patio umbrella, cabana, pergola, etc.) Weird, huh? I'm sticking with my migraine theory. :)

Love that last photo with crazy David.
Sounds like a perfect family vacation...I am glad you were able to do this.
I think you have really sweet feet. I bet they smell like roses too. :0

Isn't Palm Springs such a marvelous, unique kind of place? All of the things you said, plus all the sleek 60's architecture you can see here and there around town. Loved seeing your family having such a good time together.

I had to start giggling when I saw the posted photo of your feet and painted toes. I posted a photo of my own pedicure on my blog tonight and then chickened out and took it off, replaced it with some stock photo of beautiful feet from the internet. Isn't that stupid?

Your spring break looks so relaxing! It made me happy.

I was just about to write to you and find out if things were alright. For some reason Spring Vacation just went by under my radar.

You all look rested, happy and healthy and what a handsome couple you parents are. Not too shabby either the one the two of you make.

I am glad you were pampered and have time to enjoy a pedicure. I would be lost without mine because I can never take care of it myself and I like to look at the little piggies all jazzed up particularly if I forced to stay in bed. Good to have you back, I just wish you would have brought some of that sunshine with you. Maybe next time?

Oh what a post of perfect joy.
I've only had a couple of pedicures, both were gift certificates, and they are fabulous.

I love that you have a wonderful relationship with your parents, it gives me hope for our someday.

Thank you for the virtual spring break! Sarah & I didn't go anywhere, so it is fun to see your pictures! That greek salad looks SO good - I may have to make one for dinner! Yum!

Your vacation looks and sounds spectacular -- especially all the talking and laughing and discussing and banter. What a gift to enjoy each other's company so.

And how is it that Palm Desert is so green?
