Last night, we had my parents and Gregg's parents over to our house for Gregg's Birthday dinner...a bit late.
Since David had the flu last weekend, we postponed the celebration, and held it this weekend, after his actual birthday.
I love to set a beautiful table with fine china, silver, pretty napkins and candles. The tablecloth is from the south of France.
We had appetizers and wine while we watched the sad defeat of the University of Washington Huskies by Notre Dame, in overtime. It was a squeaker!
Gregg chose the dinner menu (steak, green salad, baked potatoes with all of the trimmings, with cheesecake and coffee for dessert).
It's so nice to have our parents here together. We are blessed that they are all still with us, and that they like each other!

I love family gatherings.

OMGosh, that is exactly what I'd choose for a perfect birthday dinner! Yum. I'd have BBQ flank steak, caesar salad, baked potatoes ~ and the only dessert I think is worthy of its calories - cheesecake! (With a strong cup of coffee.) Hmmm...no birthdays tomorrow, but I just might have to have this for dinner now! =] L.
Yum! And I always marvel when you speak of your and David's parents -- it's just so fantastic that they are alive and so beautiful. And I'm marveling, too, at how incredibly cute you are at the end of the table! You just glow in that photo!
Oops -- I meant Greg's parents...
Happy Birthday Gregg! He is such a handsome man. His smiles in all the pictures always look like he is actually laughing. I love it!
May he be blessed with many, many more great birthdays!
What a perfect birthday. Good food. Great People!!!
Glad to hear David is well again. Hopefully you will have no more flu in your home. :)

I love that tablecloth and the way you've set that beautiful table for all your dearest people. It makes a special occasion even more special. So cozy! Makes me wish I could crash your party! ha-ha!
