How I Spent the Past Two Days...

Paul setting up the cameras & checking lighting
...with my friends, Paul & Heidi Dudley, working on our videotape about family-centered care. We mixed up the furniture in our living room, took advantage of March's fleeting natural light, put a cordless microphone on me, put Paul & Heidi behind the cameras - then talked, laughed, cried and let the stories flow.
I could never do this with anyone other than dear and trusted friends. They made it feel safe and natural to talk about things I haven't said aloud to many people on this earth. They came with me on a sacred journey that many people would not, and could not bear to take.
Thank you, Paul & Heidi!
I love you both.
...and to those of you who were praying: it was therapeutic, rather than traumatic; those prayers were effective. Thank you!

Karen,
I didn't realize it was so soon, until I saw a comment elsewhere.
I am not surprised that you found it healing... as have no doubts that this will change lives.

Hugs to a huge accomplishment. You are amazing.

You had the perfect set-up for therapy, rather than trauma. You were with people that you love, that also love you, that walked the road with you, that understand, that care, that are easy to both laugh and cry with. I feel our prayers were answered way over what we could have imagined. I think this video is going to make such a difference to so many families, and none better to do the ministering than you. What a privilege to pray for you and this project. Much love and hugs to the Gbergers all, and to you, beautiful mother and friend. I hope the hardest work has been done and that the rest of it--the editing and distribution will flow just as smoothly, and get hope into the hands of the many who are dealing with the same trial in their lives.

Thank you for the encouraging words, hopes and prayers. We are not sure if we are quite finished with the filming, but when we are, editing & formatting comes after that. I am so thankful for this opportunity to tell the reality of what a difference family-centered care makes, from the first day in the hospital through hospice and beyond.

Continuing prayers are welcome! I pray that God will do what He wants to do with this project, and will use it to bless those it touches.
