Blessed EASTER Sunday to you.
I have wanted to write here for the past few days, but have been unable to do it. Reflecting about Easter, about Jesus and God's gifts to us in the midst of difficulties has been an interior thing this year, so today, Father Rohr's words are my gift to you:
I have wanted to write here for the past few days, but have been unable to do it. Reflecting about Easter, about Jesus and God's gifts to us in the midst of difficulties has been an interior thing this year, so today, Father Rohr's words are my gift to you:
"Question of the Day: What pain in my life needs God’s love and transformation today?
“ 'Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of all who fall asleep.' ~ 1 Corinthians 15:20
"St. Paul is the great evangelizer because he seldom leaves the message at the level of 'believe this fact about Jesus.' He always moves it to 'this is what it says about you!' or 'this is what it says about history!' Until we are somehow pulled into the equation, we find it hard to invest ourselves in a mere religious belief. Paul teaches 'Christ,' which includes us and all of creation, for he never knew Jesus 'in the flesh.'
"Christ Crucified is all of the hidden, private, tragic pain of history made public and given over to God. Christ Resurrected is all of that private, ungrieved, unnoted suffering received, loved, and transformed by an All-Caring God. How else could we believe in God at all? How else could we have any kind of cosmic hope? How else would we not die of sadness for what humanity has done to itself and to one another?
"Jesus is the blueprint, the plan, the pattern revealed in one body and moment of history to reveal the meaning of all of history and each of our lives. The cross is the banner of what we do to one another and to God. The resurrection is the banner of what God does to us in return.
"Easter is the announcement of God’s perfect and final victory.
"Easter is the announcement of God’s perfect and final victory.
“ 'Just know that God will transform these wretched bodies of ours into copies of Christ’s heavenly body.' ~ Philippians 3:21" -Richard Rohr, Easter 2010

Such beauty here, Karen -- I send you blessings on this day and every day. May God comfort you today and always --
I thought of you today at church. You and I know that becasue Jesus died and was risen, Katie lives on forever. You will meet her again..in God's light. My teenage cousin's Facebook status broght me much joy and simple understanding. "It IS simple. He died for me. So I live for Him." Happy Easter to you my friend.
I will never ever tire of looking at pictures of your beautiful children. There's so much love and joy in every photo you post here, Karen. Happy Easter!
Oh that is the cutest photo of David and Katie! I have been thinking about you all over Easter - a time to spend time with family and to pray for its continuation in togetherness - as well as a time to hope for another future where we shall meet those who have gone before us. I pray that your family will be reunited with Katie then.
I hope David is keeping well and that college decisions have been easy to make.
Happy Easter,
Irene x
Thank you all for the Easter wishes, and for enjoying the photos of David & Katie.
Mary, Palm Desert was greener than I've ever seen it due to rains in the wintertime. There was even snow on the mountains, while it was 85+ degrees in the valley!
Beautiful David and Katie. I thank you, Karen...it makes it bearable.
