September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month!

Team Unite has a CafePress store, and they feature awesome apparel designs that help raise awareness of childhood cancer. Here is a part of the photomontage containing many kids' pictures. Katie is in the montage. Her photo is in the second row, 4th from the right. Thanks to Heide Randall, Jessica's mom, for giving her time and talent to designing these images!

You can order t-shirts, tote bags, golf shirts, etc., with Katie's photo in them (with all of the other kids), by ordering from GROUP 2 (letters J through Z). You can identify her as your friend, cousin, etc. on your shirt, if you like. Or just wear yellow for all of the kids. From the Team Unite site: "Please note that Team Unite is not a fund raising group. We give 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the September gear to support childhood cancer awareness campaigns. "

We want our government and fellow citizens to know what a big problem childhood cancer is, and we want them to increase their support for research to find better treatments, and a CURE.

You can start shopping by clicking here.

Your precious Kate is one of many faces I recognize.

The media needs to step up the awareness of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Thank you for being an advocate.

I had forgotten that September is upon us. We usually eat at Chilis and color some chili peppers during Sept. We always draw 'in memory of' and it never ceases to move the staff. We don't do it to be noticed, but as others have said, to raise awareness and let ppl know that everyday folks like the ones sitting in their restaurant are affected by these diseases.
