Thank You & Creative Every Day

Thank you for your prayers and kind words of support & compassion. They helped me to get through yesterday. Thanks, Mom & Dad, and Susie Parker for wise, gentle and thoughtful words (these aren't on the blog.) They hit home, and they helped.

You can see why I don't want to go to a grief group, can't you? To be in a whole group of people feeling this? No way; not at this point! Though I cherish the love, friendship, mutual understanding and support that I share with each of the moms I know who have been through this, I don't know if I could take a whole crowd of us in the same place, at the same time. Maybe some day, but not today.

In the midst of this hard time, I got an email from Childlife, requesting more quilts for the hospital, so I've been working on them. Making these blankets always helps; thanks for supporting this ministry, Mom & Dad!
And since our neighbors are opening a new bistro this week:

Burrata Bistro

19006 Front Street, Suite 100

Phone 360.930.8446,
I decided to make a "Congratulations/Best Wishes" card for them, in the form of a large collage. I used photos of Italy and France, and some great shots from old issues of Gourmet magazine. I had put them in boxes to give away or recycle, but hey!--you never know when those things may come in handy! "Creative Every Day" continues to inspire, even in the dark days. This is a photo of the finished piece. I am going to wrap it up with a ribbon and give it to them.

May your day be blessed.

Your collage is beautiful! Isn't it amazing all the ideas you are coming up with for your CED? I admire how you stick to something. How do you stay motivated? I still have that one quilt in my "craft room." I will bring it next time I visit you so we can sew up the sides. I want to do it right! I would love to help with others at your house too.

Neat collage - I'm sure they are going to love it! I think grief is so hard because even thinking of happy memories can make one sad - I'm glad you can use your wonderful creativity to help absorb some of those feelings through your creations (that bring forth joy, I'm sure!)

Thanks for the comment on my blog and glad you enjoy the Island. We love it here and are not looking back.

I was saddened to see the reason you started your blog but give you credit for being so brave and putting yourself out there, so to speak. I can relate to the memory trigger - I had one over the weekend, a scene from a TV show that I stumbled on. I released a small flood from my mother's passing of cancer in Aug 1999. When I clear this out I'll be back to read through your postings.

That collage is way cool, dude. And such a zippier way to congratulate them and give them well wishes than a regular ol' card. Nicely done!

And three cheers for compassionate, wise words from parents and your friend Susie. Good news.

My boys would gently lick the tears from your face and nuzzle you while in your valley of grief. I would do the same if I were closer. Except for the licking your face part.

(Unless you're into that type of thing. If so, I can ask Beloved for permission.) :-)

The peaks and valleys of grief. Your grief will never abate, but I pray that one day the valleys will be vastly outnumbered.

I love this collage. It is filled with so much life. Great colors.

I can understand why you would want to surround yourself by warm and grounded people rather than a support group filled with so many heavy feelings. You have enough going on right now...I could see how it would be too much right now.

You are wise.

There is such a healing gift in giving to others. Your quilt project is perfect. You are providing warmth and love to others. It is love that heals.

LOVE the creativity in this. I absolutely think small businesses...especially restaurants are one of the most "American" things we have in this country. I hope it does WONDERFUL! Unfortunately we are in the land of "chain restaurants" here in Indy, but LOVE to find little homegrown places.
