Snow Days...and Days

Let's see...the last posting looked something like this, only about 2 inches of snow were on the ground.

Today, we have about 10 inches, and it's still falling. Gregg, David and I took 2 walks, this morning and afternoon, going 5+ miles in the snow.

It's beautiful, and feels like a true "winter wonderland." The temperature is not too cold outside, our power is on (thanks be to God), no wind and we are COZY. The authorities advise staying home if you don't HAVE to be on the road, and we don't have to go anywhere. We went to the grocery store yesterday (where it looked like half of the county was gathering), and got what we needed for the upcoming days. It wasn't even unpleasant; it was more like an impromptu town party. Every parking spot was full, and every grocery cart was in use. They were handing out fresh-baked cookies to the shoppers who were standing in the checkout lines. We love our great, family-owned, local grocery stores.

Here is what it looked like, walking down our driveway this morning.

The cats did not like the deep snow, at first, but they got used to it.
Liger continues to make "snow-kitty-angels." He is so funny.
We will wrap gifts today, and maybe bake some cookies. It's nice to have quiet days together.
Thanks for all of your compliments to David on the Christmas lights. He regrets that he can't travel to put yours up for you, KBL...he's snowed in here!

the pictures are just beautiful. I still can't get over Liger and Latte in the snow... I don't really like the cold weather, but with promises of fresh baked cookies and wrapping gifts...I will make a go of it.
The grocery store sounds like us just before a hurricane.
I really wish we had some local owned grocery stores...only big chain stores here. That is what I grew up with though, the little ma and pop stores.
take care,
Suz

That's it. I'm adopting cats. I can't believe my eyes when I see pics of your babies out in the snow. I want to kiss them all over!!!

You know, I may be kissing them sooner than I think...but, ssshhhhh! It's a secret surprise, so don't tell Laura! :-)
