Sunrise Refreshment

"Those who dwell, as scientists or laymen, among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life." - Rachel Carson
This video was taken as individual photographs while I watched the sun come up yesterday over Bainbridge Island. I put them together, unretouched, so you could share the peace and color of those moments.

It is always refreshing to see the beauty of nature, especially in the quiet of the early morning or evening. Though there are times when we may feel alone, or weary, if we take a few moments to stop and bask in the glory of creation, it can lift our thoughts to larger vistas and wider, more spacious horizons. A betrayal, confusion, sorrow, disappointment, conflict or fear can give way to peace and hope, when we remember that we are surrounded by glories that are not of our making - gifts that precede us, and which will endure after we are gone.

I thank God for the beauty of this earth and the universe!

I find that taking the time to see through my camera lens slows me down enough to see more clearly. Thank you for sharing - a beautiful sunrise is something to savor.
