On a Light Note...

...here is a gentle cat, who sometimes looks like an Olympic diver as he sleeps. Liger's favorite spot to nap is on a soft blanket on the back of the couch.
It makes me smile that he is always snoozing under an icon of Jesus and his disciples, at table for their "Last Supper." Liger often bumps the icon so that it's askew, and I straighten it. There is something sweet about him sleeping under the sacred image.
I don't mean ANY disrespect or sacrilege by this;
I love the icon and I love the cat, and they seem to fit well together.
A cat's life is nice and soft, in this house.

Our pets are such equalizers in the battle against life's struggles. I know when I am greeted with our little guy's deep black eyes and his open acceptance, my burdens are lightened. He gives me strength along with chuckles.

We have had sweet cats througout the years; however one mean, biting, unpredictable cat has closed that door for OUR family. Dogs do it for us. Each one has brought its own challenges, but each one has brought more love than we could have ever imagined.

I have appreciation for all family pets who can soothe our souls.

This is so sweet.
I love that first photo...you said he looks like a diver, I think it looks like he is in prayer mode to me. :)
ozzie lays like this a lot, and I always say: "what a sweet boy, he is praying"...I will take a photo one day and show you.
Love this Karen!

Don't you just love our animals? I don't know what I'd do without my sweet beast. I agree with Truth Ferret - they truly are equalizers in the battle against life's struggles. Well said!

Ah yes, the sweet life. That's a very pampered feline and I wouldn't mind trading places for a day, sleeping for hours on that soft blanket under the inspiring icon. Heaven on earth.

I'm laughing at the diving photo - hilarious! I really miss having cats... maybe one date again in the future. Right now our dogs are so all-consuming though.
