A Smiley Visit

Smileygirl and her mom came to town yesterday. We had a delicious lunch (Thank you, Liz!) in one of my favorite restaurants, and then a brief driving tour of part of the island, on the way to our house. After a cup of coffee and sharing stories, we went to pick David up at school and explore downtown Poulsbo together. It's such fun to be a "tourist" in your own town. You see it through new eyes, when sharing it with a visitor.

I know it's a huge transition to move from the south to the north, but I'm glad you're here, Smileygirl. I loved getting to know your mom, and look forward to many happy visits to come. God bless you!

P.S. You're not getting away with swapping Latte for Chumley. I know Latte's vibe; you can't fool me. Besides, though I fell for Chum, he hasn't fallen for me (yet), and I'm not going to let him bite my legs. He & I will just have to "grow our relationship" - HA! (See- what an awful expression that is!)

Were you able to open my picture text this morning? They had that expression as a title on one of the Today show segments! I immediately thought of you and was able to snap a pic with my phone! Pet peeves are so damn funny.

Day 2 and I'm wearing my hat! LOVE IT!!

I did; I sent you an email. What a riot!
That is a great hat. You should post a photo. Next thing you know, you'll be off to REI and cute ski hats!

I love this post... I loved it on Laura's blog as well! AND I loved that YouTube video of Chumley - hysterical! (I left a "positive" comment because there were so many negative ones... clearly no one knows how wonderful Chumley secretly is!)

So glad you two have been able to spend some time together!

I'm glad you had a nice lunch. I'm going out to eat with my bfk Tuesday. It is great that you can have friends and meet them in the blog world. Awesome.

I am going to give her the night light. You are right to think with the heart.

By the way, the quilts are turning out beautiful. I will snap a picture when we are done. We are going on the eighteenth to a ronald mcdonald house. My students are getting donations by the car load. My only hope is that they spot at least one person. They are so excited to meet some of the people they helped. See, you have inspired some bloggers to do good things.

Have a wonderful weekend.

It's great fun to see you three together when I know you, but I don't "know" you. xoxo.

Karyn, you should! It would be fun to meet you. Maybe you will be out here for work? Or just come for fun. Summer is beautiful.
