Summer Fun

This beautiful yacht went by our house yesterday. It had passed by my parents' house, so my dad emailed to tell us that it was coming. It came right toward us, and then turned and continued sailing to the south. A lovely sight to see. As it was coming, another boat went by pulling a water-skiier. Summer fun!

On Friday, I dropped David off at the golf club for a lesson. He played 9 holes after that, and then went to Grandma and Kappa's to move their woodpile. I took the ferry to Seattle and ran a couple of errands. It was a sunny day, perfect for a walk uptown. Afterward, I met smileygirl at her hotel. We had a mini-spa time at Nordstrom's flagship store, and then went to dinner together at purple cafe and wine bar. It was great to meet her in person, although I feel as if we already know each other through the blogosphere, email, phone, etc. We had a great dinner and visit. Welcome to Seattle!

David went to Port Townsend yesterday with one of our beloved doctors and his family. What a great man this doctor is; he was one of our guiding lights from the beginning of our time at Children's. We loved our visit with him, and appreciate that relationship very much. We have been blessed to be surrounded by wonderful people.
While David was out, Gregg and I went to Silverdale to run errands, and then stopped at a local brew-pub. We ate Oysters Rockefeller and drank micro-brewed beer while we watched the Tour de France. A fun date.

sending you my wish for peace, comfort, and joy in the journey. we found a collection of journaling from an English class Kelly's last year in sschool. it is so precious - contains her thoughts about many life issues and so many times she writes of how very much she loves her family. and at the time, at home, she was constantly telling us how much she couldn't wait to get her own place, to move away from Cut Bank, etc - all those typical senior year frustrations with home. how very precious to have that letter from Katie.....sigh.....
missing our daughters......
hoping they are the best of friends in heaven......

Hooray! Two of my favorite bloggers have met in person! Now, isn't this just SO cool?! The fact that you two met this way?! I just think that's really really cool. The internet gets such a bad rap (and frequently, rightly so) for all the creepy people who are lurking but there are REALLY NICE people lurking too! LOL (I'm literally laughing at myself....)

Anyway, I'm glad you two finally met and had a nice time.

That yacht was gorgeous, Karen! I can't imagine being aboard something that posh (much less owning something like that!)

Have a wonderful week!
