I Love This Spot

I love the place where Katie's bench sits.
It is in the park beside the marina in the city of Poulsbo, on the shores of Liberty Bay.

I took this photo at dusk on Friday evening, just before we met friends at a local restaurant.
I'm thankful that we have this memorial to her,
in such a beautiful place -
a place she knows and loves.

  5. Oh and you don't have to post this, since I have monopolized you section here but I have looked high and low for your email and just cannot locate it on the blog..

I wanted to share with you what my mom added to a prayer we were saying, the night before she died. All of us, including her, had no idea that she was leaving us such a gift in these words. But that day, the day before she died she left us so many gifts that were such God moments. Moments that told us that God was preparing us all for her leaving. We are so lucky to have these. So blessed to have had her.

"I want you to know how much I love you all.and how loved I feel. I am surrounded by love. I thank God every day for each of you. And I want you to know that even when I am not with you, I am with you. I speak to you telepathically. I send you messages of love. Do you get those messages."

Your sharing of Katie's words did indeed bless me Karen. Thank you again.

  8. I love this spot too! It makes me want to hug you every time I see it. Beauty and pain intermingled. Isn't that always the way?
