Tell Gregg to be careful. My husband had shoulder surgery as a result of thinking he could just "pick-up" skateboarding for a bit. I cringe at some of the "fun" things my kids did! But that might negate "the cool". : ) Wow, your water problems make me pretty thankful for municipal water at the ready. Those are beautiful pictures...love the one with the mailbox. Having had a severe concussion with NO helmet while skating two years ago, I have learned my lesson. Pull some parental 'authority' here for his sake. I read The Water Giver (Joan Ryan) a year or so ago and am terrified of skateboards now. Abe was into skateboarding as a 5-6 year old and now Ruby takes it out back and tries to ride. They're young enough I can force the helmet..Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11399324383367077919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994832747844483996.post-75138109962780598402011-05-14T21:18:11.737-07:002011-05-14T21:18:11.737-07:00Thank you for your concern. I will keep mentioning the helmet, but he is 18 now. And my boyfriend should do the same even for a short time. You are not alone being nervous, believe me. As Barry said, they both should wear helmets as breaking a leg is one thing but the rest of the fragile parts are always a problem. Poor David, not only he has you to spoil his fun but I am right behind.

However because we very wise we will nag him until he gets his helmet. Hugs from here to all of you. I'm not going to tell you our neighborhood story about the boy riding the longboard down a hill WITHOUT a helmet who crashed and had a very serious head injury -- part of his skull removed and placed in his stomach until the swelling went down -- two weeks in a coma and half a year recovery -- well, I'm not going to tell it, but maybe David needs to hear it from ME! The boy is fine, now, thank God, but it was hideously scary.

On a lighter note, I love the chartreuse/green and purple flowers and colors -- beautiful.Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03313726816776097840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6994832747844483996.post-79201444754448500632011-05-14T12:07:41.032-07:002011-05-14T12:07:41.032-07:00Haha! But THEN, seeing GREGG on that thing literally made me gasp!! I'm such a chicken when it comes to that kind of stuff. The one thing that I remember most from my visits to Seattle is how hilly it is. I suppose it would be fun for someone who wants to ride a slab of wood with tiny little wheels on it, but those of us watching, not so much! ;-)ChiTown Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09240876368610100419noreply@blogger.com
