When we bought the house we live in, 8 years ago, the closest Wal Mart was about 10 miles away, in a fairly outlying, rural area. Hubster and I used to enjoy the "people watching" there more than anything else! And I can assure you, those "country-fried" folks definitely did NOT dress up to go to Wal Mart.... many of them didn't even bother to put their teeth in! :-)
Hope you and your family have a wonderful 4th of July weekend, Karen!
Karen, I just noticed you have one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE books on your Shellfari list - "Operating Instructions" by the (incomparable!!) Anne Lamott!
Oh my gosh - that book helped me get through my first year of motherhood - it was fabulous! I had horrible post partum depression and I would sit there reading, crying and laughing all at the same time!
I have a wonderful interview with Anne Lamott on my blog if you're interested - just look over on the "LABELS" section under Anne Lamott.... it's a radio interview she gave to Steve Brown. You'll love it. She is one of my heroes! :-)
